What a bad day for Mac ‘n’ Cheese lovers. But in reality, this event will probably not stop you from eating Mac ‘n’ Cheese in the future, or maybe stay away from Kraft Macaroni & Cheese for awhile.
6.5 million boxes, 242,000 cases, of those yummy Kraft cheese covered noodles were recalled after eight different incidents were reported of the Mac ‘n’ Cheese boxes containing tiny pieces of metal. More specifically the “Original Flavor” 7.25 oz packages.
If you recently purchased this product, check the dates to see if it falls with the recalled boxes. The ones with “best when used by” dates starting on September 18, 2015 through October 11, 2015 and have the code “C2” should be tossed out and/or refunded. The United States, Puerto Rico, and various counties in South American and in the Caribbean got these specific deliveries.
Kraft Foods Group Inc. said in a statement, “We deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumers we have disappointed.”
On March 4, 2015, a Twitter user tweeted a photo of a tiny piece of metal that was reportedly found in his cup of Easy Mac. The tweet was posted at 1:22am so it seems about right.

Joyce Hodel, Kraft spokesperson, said they tried to reach out to that customer, but never heard back.
“It is helpful when people provide information that can help us investigate what could have happened,” she said in a statement. “We have rigorous quality and food safety processes and controls in place, but if we need to take any actions based on everything we know, we will not hesitate to do the right thing.”
If you have any of those boxes, returns can be done in-store for a refund or exchange. Refunds can be done through Kraft Foods Consumer Relations by calling 1-800-816-9432 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET.
