Instagram iOS Update Allows For Landscape Mode Shooting

Instagram for iOS Now With Landscape Mode

Instagram has released an Apple iOS update that brings with it the ability to shoot pictures and videos in landscape mode. The update also offers a few bug fixes that were left out of the Instagram video launch in late June.

Apple customers can download the update or full app via the App Store. The software is listed as version 4.0.2.

While the format of the resulting videos will still be square the new mode makes it easier to hold an iPhone while recording videos.

In the original version of the app when Instagram video was recorded it would not get flipped automatically by the app.

Also included in the Instagram version 4.0.2 update is Cinema stabilization for the iPhone’s front-facing camera. The Cinema Stabilization was already available for rear-facing cameras and has been highly touted for its precision.
