A disturbing sub-culture has emerged on Instagram in which people are stealing photos of babies and children and then posting them on the photo sharing network for the purpose of role playing.
While some of the posts are harmless, others are being used to act out fantasies of violence and sex with the children.
A new petition started on Change.org is demanding that Instagram hunt down and remove the disturbing posts. The petition is relying on the hashtag #downwithbabyrp.
The petition was started after many of the disturbing accounts refused to remove the pictures even when asked by parents. In many situations even threats of copyright infringement for the photos are being ignored.
There are currently 471 signatures for the petition with a goal of reaching 500.
