The Indian village of Shiv Nagar (named after the Indian god Shiva) has recently changed names to SnapDeal Nagar after SnapDeal.com, the countries equivalent to Groupon.

According to CNN company founder Kunal Bahl made a $5,000 donation to the village which allowed them to install fifteen hand operated water pumps and thanks to that donation villagers no longer have to walk two hours to receive fresh water.

As a thank you to the company the city changed their name to SnapDeal Nagar when the website branded pumps that were distributed throughout the city.

The company’s 28-year-old CEO has promised that his company will continue to give money where it will help the most, stating on his company blog:

“All we can say is that time will show our commitment to this project and even the things we do in the future. You need not be a multibillionaire company to make a change in society around you. This project was not about the power of money but the intent and efforts which our team took to give this dream alive. Even if one small company takes inspiration from this, we will feel our efforts have borne fruit.”
