Figuring out how to use social media to its fullest has its many pitfalls. The climate is dynamic, social mores arbitrarily change almost overnight, and if you’re honest with yourself, you’re constantly worried about “engagement,” i.e. whether your social campaigns are paying off or whether you’re just speaking to a brick wall.
While we’ve seen brand campaigns fall apart for reasons beyond anyone’s control (though often, the strategy contradicts basic common sense), you can at least be a little proactive by making sure you’re not violating the unique Terms of Service agreements of each social network. We can’t help you not annoy your followers, but we can help you not annoy network admins which can result in punitive damages up-to-and-including account termination.
Diving into the ToS of each social network can be a chore, which is why SEOSmarty just went ahead and did it for you. The following infographic shows exactly what kind of behavior is considered spam across all of the major social networks, and should help you formulate a basic social media strategy. Check it out below!
