Hillary Clinton Tweet Knocks Fox During Super Bowl

Hillary Tweet

Hillary Clinton took to Twitter Sunday night to express how much she was enjoying Fox’s Super Bowl broadcast.

Now the game isn’t all that exciting – at this writing, the Seattle Seahawks are destroying the Denver Broncos 36-8 late in the 3rd quarter.

But Hillary’s been under fire from Fox News for her handling of the Benghazi attack in September 2011, when an American diplomatic in the Libyan city came under fire and the U.S. ambassador to the country was killed. Many Republicans – and Fox News pundits – claim that Clinton, then Secretary of State, is somehow personally responsible for undermining the mission’s security and thus allowing the attack to take place.

That isn’t the only reason Clinton would see Fox as unfriendly territory. The company’s news channel has become well-known for its conservative and Republican bias, and Clinton has been a consistent target of the right wing since her time as first lady in the 1990s.

Since she’s also considered a frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see more snarky tweets like this from Hillary over the next couple years. It’s a nice play to her base, especially at a moment sure to go viral, like the Super Bowl. So far, it has over 27,000 retweets.

As for the Broncos, they might not be quite as thrilled to be under assault on Fox tonight.
