HBO Posts First Episode Of ‘Silicon Valley’ On YouTube

Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley is a new comedy from the mind of Mike Judge, and today the first episode was uploaded to the official HBO YouTube account.

The show runs for 30 minutes, and the first episode aired last night at 10 PM Eastern.

Here’s a synopsis courtesy of IMDB:

“In the high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. A comedy partially inspired by Mike Judge’s own experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late 1980s.”

Kid Rock opens up the first episode, performing at a party for a company who got acquired by Google for over $200 million.

Real life comedians Thomas Middleditch, TJ Miller and Kumail Nanjiani talk about how crazy it all is, and Google Chairman Eric Schmidt appears as an extra or what could just be a really good body double.

“Kid Rock is the poorest person here, apart from you guys. There’s $40 billion of net worth walking around this party, and you guys are standing around drinking shrimp and talking about what cum tastes like.”

HBO is following a similar move to the season three premiere of Girls, uploading its first episode to YouTube the day after originally airing.

Consider this episode of Silicon Valley a freebie as if you want to catch future episodes, you’ll need to be an HBO subscriber or “borrow” a friend’s HBO GO login details.
