Grindr is a growing app among the gay community, and has received several new updates today, including its first new look in five years.
Tribes have been added, and allow users to better describe themselves such as Bear, Trans, Jock, Daddy, Rugged and Clean-cut.
Grindr generates 75 percent of its revenue from Grindr Xtra, and to identify with more than one tribe, you have to be an Xtra subscriber.
Filters have also been added to the app, and you can now search based on weight, height, age, ethnicity and more.
However, free users can only use up to three filters at a time.
Users are now able to share even more information on their Grindr profile, including tribes, and a new chat box provides easy access to past messages, even favorites.
Most notably, the app features a new look with the feed receiving the redesign treatment as well.
The update is now available on iOS, and it is expected to be coming to Android soon.
Launched in 2009, Grindr has over seven million users who send over one billion messages each month, and one billion photos every two months.
