Grieving Family Mistakenly Buries Someone Else’s Grandfather

Don’t you hate it when that happens? You are going to bury you grandfather and you are so blinded by grief that you bury the wrong grandpa. Doesn’t seem very likely but this actually happened to a family from the UK after the funeral home put the wrong name plates on the wrong coffins.

The Emmet family wanted one last look at their grandfather, Dennis, so they opened the casket only to see an entirely different dead man who was clearly not their former Pop-Pop (as some people like to call their grandpas). A man named Trevor Parfitt was the other lifeless victim in this faux-pas, and both bodies were in the wrong place with the wrong families.

The funeral home immediately jumped into action, realizing the error of their ways, but there is little you can do to help the situation when you hand someone the wrong dead grandfather and send their dead grandfather with someone else.

The funeral home in mention claims to have fired the worker responsible, and the family has made no formal comments to the press, claiming it is too painful to talk about. Luckily, we journalists are a soulless lot and tell their story anyway.
