The new Facebook Timeline feature just rolled out for web browser and iPhone users and now a source close to the company has announced that the same feature that allows users to track their lives back to their birth will be coming to the iPad in late January.
According to 9to5Mac the social network is optimizing the Timeline feature for the iPad’s larger screen. The same source says the Timeline feature would have launched in December but bugs had to be worked out.
While the January date is looking good at this time it’s still possible more bugs and other changes could delay the company’s release further.
“The large, Multi-Touch version of Timeline is described as very smooth and intuitive and a fusion of the web and iPhone/iPod touch versions,” according to the report.
As VentureBeat points out:
“Timeline on the iPad has the potential to drive home the significance of Facebook’s new feature to holdouts and naysayers. The form factor and touch-centric nature of the iPad more closely resembles that of a traditional scrapbook and would give members a way to tote around, flip through, view and showoff their most-prized memories in all their digital glory.”
Facebook has not confirmed the rumor at this time.
