Just over two weeks ago, the New York Times speculated that the native iPad Facebook app was finally coming to the App Store.
It’s a bit of a First World Problem, but if you’ve tried to Facebook on an iPad, it sucks. The only downloadable app is scaled for the iPhone or iPod, so it looks ridiculously small. The mobile site is okay, but it’s not winning any awards for convenience. And so many iPad apps, like Words With Friends, are just stunning on the tablet so it makes using Facebook just feel so sad and inconvenient.
But the launch could be coming next week… or it could be something else. Mark Zuckerberg told reporters today during a visit to Facebook in Seattle that the company is gearing up to “launch something awesome” the first week of July, but left it at that. Speculatively, the Facebook for iPad app is the main suspect for the awesome thing to be released next week, but Zuck could be faking us all out.
Do you have a suspicion about next week’s awesomelaunch? What do you think it’s going to be?
