Eliminated Spelling Bee Contestant’s Failed Word Goes Viral [Video]

Jacob Williamson won over many hearts during the 2014 Scripps National Spelling Bee, but it wasn’t for winning. In fact, it was for his eccentric reactions and funny moments. With every correct word, the 15-year-old’s small celebrations were sure to bring a smile to your face.

It is a refreshing change of pace seeing kids reacting at all in such a stressful atmosphere. Unfortunately, Jacob did not make it all the way.

Kabaragoya.

That right there is the word, known as a type of lizard, that may haunt Williamson for the rest of his life, but it is the same word that woke YouTube up this morning. A video of him spelling kabaragoya incorrectly, due to his confidence of knowing how to spell it and his reaction to hearing the wrong buzzer, has gone viral and made it on many morning news channels.

Does this video break your heart or make your day? Jacob told ESPN he will “remember this always.”
