Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is warning his cast members about the dangers of over-sharing.
The shows creator tells The Telegraph that he has long worried about plot details being revealed on popular social networks ahead of airing.
The shows Twitter warning started after Season 5 guest star Richard E. Grant posted a photo of himself in costume. Fellowes says of that Twitter post: “He’s very naughty … The trouble we’ve had with things like Twitter.”

Fellows goes on to note:
“We had to explain to the cast about the dangers of tweeting, as no one realized how interested everybody was in the show … You’re in a bubble when you’re filming. You’re just tweeting these nice things and you don’t realize there are millions of people worldwide trying to pick up the plot.”
Grant plays Simon Bricker, a guest to the Granthams on Season 5 of the show.
The new season of Downton Abbey airs Fall 2014 in the UK and January 2015 in the US.
