Conspiracy Theorist Claims That First Ever Image of Blackhole is Fake, and Their Logic Will Enrage You

On Wednesday, a team of astrophysicists from around the globe bought us the first ever image of a black hole. Led by American imaging scientist Katie Bouman, the reveal is a landmark in scientific history.

However, conspiracy theorists are already suggesting that the photograph is fake, and the reason why will infuriate you.

Controversial men’s rights activist Roosh V tweeted the picture of the black hole, alongside a snap of Bouman, the scientist responsible for the algorithm that captured the image.

He wrote: “This ‘black hole’ photo is almost certainly fake. I’m not good at photoshop but can create a more believable black hole photo.

“It only went viral because the news is desperate to pat a woman on the head for doing anything but make a baby.”

If that sentence didn’t make you want to hurl, some idiots on the net actually agree with him that a woman can’t make a scientific discovery.

One Twitter user wrote: “Lmao this is ridiculously true. She wanted vitality and got it.”

While another added: ““I bet in reality she probably has science geek beta orbiters doing the research for her behind the scenes and she’s just taking the credit.”

Fortunately, legit scientists from MIT were swift to applaud Bouman’s work.

They tweeted: “Scientist Katie Bouman just posted about the moment when “the first image I ever made of a black hole” was processed.
