Blockbuster announced it would be closing the last of its around 300 retail stores last week, ushering an end to the once video rental giant.
Saturday was the final day for movie rentals, and in a funny twist of fate, the last movie rental was none other than This Is The End.

Hours after posting the tweet, Seth Rogen who starred in and directed the film, shared a few simple words:
“@blockbuster: The last BLOCKBUSTER rental 11/9 Hawaii 11PM @ThisIsTheEnd #BlockbusterMemories https://t.co/ImkXUOo0vg” this is nuts and sad

Blockbuster is not just shutting down the last of its retail stores. The “By Mail” service which tried competing with Netflix will also come to a close in mid-December.
