Animated GIFs Now Work On Facebook Thanks To Giphy

Facebook

Facebook users have only been able to share images of the still variety, but thanks to animated GIF search engine Giphy, you can now share animated GIFs.

However, animated GIFs still do not work when uploaded directly to Facebook. Instead, Giphy has created a workaround that, when you share the link to a gif from its website, the gif plays as the image thumbnail.

Here is what it looks like:

In order for the animation to work, you have to first click the image thumbnail. Still, it functions similar to when a video is shared, and is sure to be enjoyed by many.

To start sharing animated GIFs on Facebook, simply head on over to Giphy. From there, you can search at the very top of the page, browse by category or explore different tags.

Once you have found an animated GIF you like, click the Facebook share button directly below it to share to all your friends.
