Did you catch the finale of Breaking Bad? That ain’t nothing. A shooting in Southwest Philadelphia left five injured and one dead last Sunday.
Though the two things seem as unrelated as politicians and compromise, the connection was forced by Fox 29 Philly anchor Joyce Evans on Twitter over the weekend, and critics are accusing her of everything from bad taste to outright famewhoring.
Thought “Breaking Bad” was hot last Sunday? @FOX29philly See who’s breakin’ bad in SW Philly leavin’ 6 people SHOT – Tonite at Ten!

So, that exists.
Twitter users can hardly believe it, either.
@JoyceEvansFox29 @FOX29philly HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA PEOPLE DIED. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA.

I’ll say this much. You’re a lot more famous now than you were eight minutes ago. @JoyceEvansFox29 @FOX29philly — Jeb Lund (@Mobute) October 7, 2013
@JoyceEvansFox29 @fox29philly @loctastic this tweet sounds like it was written by a sociopath — Max L. (@LonettoMB) October 7, 2013
But believe it or not, the story actually gets better. Instead of an apology, Evans opted for a bolder strategy: The Double-Down.
Last tweet NOT AST ALL A JOKE. Very real life drama was the point as oppose to one that end on tv. That was my point — Joyce Evans (@JoyceEvansFox29) October 7, 2013
But Joyce, don’t you think that was a little insensitive?
@NFL4SanAntonio @FOX29philly Nice. Missed my point. This is a very real life drama. Not gonna have a tv ending

Well, okay then. So long as we know where we stand.
Fox probably isn’t thrilled about the tweet, either. Not because six people were shot, but because AMC owns the rights to Breaking Bad.
