Staff at a library in Indiana are begging visitors to stop sticking googly eyes on book covers because the outcome will “haunt nightmares for all eternity.”
Patrons of the Alexandria-Monroe Public Library have allegedly ruined several books by gluing googly eyes to the covers. To illustrate their point, the library shared a snap of horror novella ‘The Turn of the Screw’ to their Facebook page, and the result will chill you to the core.
The amusing photo has already garnered plenty of likes and shares, and was captioned with: “‘We’d like to remind patrons to not attach googley eyes to books.
“It can cause damage to the cover and in this case haunt our nightmares for all eternity. Thank you. — with Creepy Kid.”
Although, many following the post pointed out that sharing the hilarious prank is more likely to inspire people than deter them, and result in more terrifying googly-eyed book covers in the future.
“If this post was intended to keep people from damaging books, I think it will not accomplish its purpose,” said one commentator.
While another added: “This post has convinced me I must attach google eyes to all books. Thank you.”
