A Day Later, #ThatMexicanThing Is Still Yuge

Mike Pence might have won the night but the real fun was when Kaine whipped out #ThatMexicanThing

#ThatMexicanthing

Last night’s Vice-Presidential debate probably did very little to change the tone of the election. Most of the viewership for VP Debates is generally already decided. The undecided voters were mostly watching the Blue Jays/Orioles game. If you didn’t tune in, you didn’t miss much; Tim Kaine tried to prove that he wasn’t boring by yelling over the moderator and his opponent and Mike Pence tried to make people forget that he’s running with Donald Trump.

So pretty much Tim Kaine just berated Pence in to defending Trump’s policies and statements; the list of abhorrent statements is a bit too long to go through here but the big one was “that Mexican thing”. In case you missed it. Here’s that #ThatMexicanThing is.

Likely because Twitter loves a great innuendo and Pence’s statement to Kaine that “you whipped out that Mexican thing again”, is a Freudian slip at it’s most diverse. Here are a few of the best bits of the Twitterstorm:

There were a lot of Tweets by Mexican immigrants or second-generation immigrants championing their Mexican thing.

Thankfully, we’re still a month away from this race being over and I’m sure there will be many, many more slips by both parties.
