2013 Sundance Shorts Receive 2 Million YouTube Views

2012 Sundance Shorts are all the rage this year and thanks to YouTube those shorts from promising up and coming directors have racked up 2 million views.

YouTube on Tuesday began features 12 of the festivals 65 shorts in a special online screening room and users have flocked to the short form flicks.

According to Trevor Groth, director of programming for the Short Film program at Sundance, the 65 films up for consideration were chosen among 8,000 submitted works for festival consideration.

The Polish short The Whistler recently received the 2013 Sundance Grand Jury Prize and it did very well on YouTube. As did Irish Folk Furniture which was filmed in Ireland.

YouTube started showing Sundance Film Festival shorts in 2012 and with the networks popularity growing for the shorts format we will likely continue to see more Sundance shorts from YouTube in the near future.
