YouTube Now Reaches More Adults Than Cable TV, Engages Brand Customers More Effectively

If you run a business and you haven’t advertised on YouTube or started your own video channel you might be missing out on a gigantic audience full of ‘ready to spend’ adult viewers.

The social video platform according to MDG Advertising is now serving more 18-to-34-year-old adults than cable TV networks in the United States.

The study also notes that an increased audience for YouTube is important as digital video spending is expected to reach $8.06 billion by 2016.

MDG Advertising notes that engagement and revenue statistics for top brands continues to increase. Brands currently achieving much success from video advertising include: Nike, Red Bull, and Old Spice, among others.

Top brands on YouTube now average 884,000 YouTube views per month and spend $23,000 on average for monthly YouTube advertising.

The study also finds that 350 interactions are generated for each minute of video uploaded by the social video platforms top 1,000 brands.
