Ylvis ‘The Fox’ Social Media’s New Favorite Song

Have you seen Ylvis’ “The Fox,” a song being tentatively branded the new “Gangnam Style?”

The absurd Ylvis’ even more absurd offering features an array of what appears to be furries, and ponders the question we’ve all found ourselves asking — what noise does a fox make, anyway?

The electronic dance music apparent insta-classic is the work of Scandinavian brothers Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker, the duo behind Ylvis.

Brother Bård says viral infamy wasn’t even on his mind when making Ylvis’ “The Fox,” adding that the romp was just for TV fun. He tells MoJo:

“To be honest I am quite surprised! This song is made for a TV show and is supposed to entertain a few Norwegians for three minutes—and that’s all. It was done just a few days ago and we recently had a screening in our office. About 10 people watched—nobody laughed.”

As of right now, “The Fox” has more than 3.2 million YouTube views, and one user quips, “I can not make this my ringtone fast enough.”
