Facebook joins Google in a major outage today. Rest easy, it’s not just you. A lot of users have reported on Twitter and elsewhere that they’re experiencing troubles on Facebook.
TechCrunch attributes Facebook outages to a DNS issue, which was seemingly confirmed by the following statement from a Facebook spokesperson:
“Earlier today we made a change to our DNS infrastructure and that change resulted in some people being temporarily unable to reach the site. We detected and resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100 percent. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
The outage lasted about 15-30 minutes, and has been the second major Facebook outage in as many weeks. The social network experienced some downtime on November 30.
The site is back up, but if you’re still experiencing outages, you can reportedly access the network through o.facebook.com and beta.facebook.com, reports TheNextWeb.
