Winnie the Pooh is a hermaphrodite?
The classic cartoon character was apparently in the running to represent a Polish playground in the small town of Tuszyn but then council members decided that it wasn’t a good idea because Pooh was probably a hermaphrodite.
Is Winnie the Pooh indecent? A Polish council thinks so: criticizes his clothes and lack of clear gender. #cbcmb pic.twitter.com/a0YJ1zdZC0

According to the Independent, the issue was brought up at a recent council meeting in Poland. One councilor denounced Winnie the Pooh as a “hermaphrodite” while the others agreed that the cartoon character is “inappropriately dressed” and has “dubious sexuality.”
An anonymous member said: “The problem with that bear is it doesn’t have a complete wardrobe … It is half naked which is wholly inappropriate for children. [Poland’s fictional bear] is dressed from head to toe, unlike Pooh who is only dressed from the waist up … It doesn’t wear underpants because it doesn’t have a sex.”
If Winnie the Pooh is our new standard for indecency, I'm in a lot of trouble.

The meeting was secretly recorded and then leaked to the press. The most controversial quote comes from councilor Hanna Jachimska, who said: “This is very disturbing but can you imagine! (AA Milne) was over 60 and cut [Pooh’s] testicles off with a razor blade because he had a problem with his identity.”
The council has not decided which cartoon character will represent the playground in Tuszyn but we’re guessing that it won’t be Winnie the Pooh.
