Why Michael Sam’s Homosexuality Doesn’t Matter [Video]

University of Missouri lineman Michael Sam is gay. Despite being an All-American defensive lineman and the Associated Press’ SEC Defensive Player of the Year, his homosexuality is probably going to hold him back in May’s NFL draft.

Though much of Twitter was positive about Sam’s Sunday “coming out” announcement, officials in the NFL have openly admitted that the Mizzou star’s career could be grounded before it even begins. If drafted, Sam would be the first openly gay player in NFL history, but NFL logic states that no coach will ever let him set foot in a locker room because that would make straight players totes uncomfortable.
