Where's MH370? Check Out the Most Offensive Kid's Book Ever

When MH370, a passenger plane carrying 200 people, disappeared mid-flight, the world was captivated. The greatest aviation mystery of our era has yet to be solved, but now children everywhere can do their part to locate the missing aircraft, with “Where’s MH370?” a children’s search-and-find book in the style of “Where’s Waldo?”

Okay, so the book isn’t exactly for kids. Rather, it’s a satire of the incident taking the form of one. It’s nonetheless illustrated quite childishly, and despite the obvious offensiveness, it’s also pretty funny. You know, in that “200 people probably died” kind of way.

The author of the book is Mathew Carpenter, who just happens to be the guy who started Ship Your Enemies Glitter, a website which offers to send your worst enemies envelopes full of impossible to clean glitter. In an interview with VICE Media’s Motherboard, Carpenter explained what drove him to create the twisted satire:

“I was a big fan of Where’s [Waldo] growing up. You have these amazingly detailed illustrations that not only keep you entertained for hours, but feature fucking hilarious Easter eggs if you look close enough. The idea for Where’s MH370 came from brainstorming what the hardest thing to find in the world is. Over the past year or so, it’s been MH370 so in the end it was a no-brainer to jump in & make it.”

He added:

“I personally wanted to read a Where’s Wally type book that instead focuses on finding MH370. Realizing no-one would ever make something like it, I decided it was something I would have to do myself.”
