Unless you live under a rock and have never used the interwebs or email you will know what spam is and most likely you will hate it just as much as everyone else.
Nigerian princes looking to send their millions to you, phishing tactics to get your private logins, adware or just annoying junk mail you will have seen these most likely on a regular basis. Have you ever wondered where are these spam mails are coming from though?
The following infographic breaks down some of the numbers of spam emails and where they originate from, some of the countries that are sending out large volumes of spam may surprise you. For example South Korea is 2nd in the world for spam and also over 50% of the EU’s spam mails come from there too.
Other major spamming nations include Russia, Taiwan and Vietnam although surprisingly the USA is above all of them! It’s also interesting in light of the current disputes between China, South Korea, and Japan, on topics such as territorial rights to the Senkaku and Takeshima Islands, and the comfort women issue.
