WedPics claims it’s the number one photo and video app for wedding-goers to share special moments, and today raised $1.5 million in Series A funding.
The funding round was led by IDEA Fund Partners with participation from Red Hat co-founder Bob Young, ReverbNation president Jed Carlson, angel group TAP, Great Oaks Venture Capital, and several other private investors.
Created out of photo-sharing app “deja mi” in early 2012, co-founder Justin Miller says that WedPics has nearly one million unique users.
Also, users have shared over eight million photos and videos across 200,000 weddings, which is a 10x and 8x increase respectively, compared to a year prior.
On average, the wedding app adds over 600 new couples per day, and it plans on using the funding to hire new marketers and developers.
WedPics is currently free to use on Android and iOS.
