Bill Nye the Science Guy and Ken Ham the creation guy will be going toe-to-toe in a debate tonight at the Creation Museum. You can watch the debate live online with the video below.
Tonight’s debate will seek to settle some questions that have been around since the beginning of time. Which, of course, is one of the points up for debate. Just how old is the earth? According to Ken Ham, that answer is about 600 years old. According to Bill Nye, that’s ridiculous.
The age of the earth isn’t the only question up for debate tonight. Nye and Ham will also try to answer questions like: Do you seriously not believe in evolution? You really think we came from monkeys? Come on, the entire world in 7 days? Why has there only been one “big bang?” Do I look good in this bow-tie?
Nye has become an outspoken critic of Creationism for the last few years. The Science Guy has written several articles warning people about the dangers of creationism. His biggest objection is that believing the bible word-for-word will hinder scientific growth.
The Bill Nye – Ken Ham creationism debate has been a huge topic of conversation today on the internet. Most people are rooting for one side or the other to win, fruitlessly hoping that the world will change after tonight’s debate. But that isn’t going to happen. Creationists are still going to side with Ken Ham and the rest of the world is going to side with Bill Nye.
So why debate? Well, it’s going to be fun to watch.
