Vine Officially Bans Porn

Vine

Vine announced its banning sexually explicit content today, and also prompted many users to ask the question, “You can watch porn on Vine!?”

Yes, no social network is free of the stuff, including a service built around videos that last as long as, yeah, nevermind.

While Vine has taken down pornographic content before, today’s move simply solidifies its stance.

Under its Terms of Service, the service added “Is pornographic or sexually explicit” under “Restrictions on Content and Use of the Services.”

From the official Vine blog:

“For more than 99 percent of our users, this doesn’t really change anything. For the rest: we don’t have a problem with explicit sexual content on the Internet –– we just prefer not to be the source of it.”

Vine also asks its users to report a video “that violates our updated policy,” which is totally probably not going to happen.
