Vanessa Marano (born 31 October 1992) is an American actress and singer famous as Bay Kennish in ABC Family’s drama series Switched At Birth.

She is known for her part in Ghosts Whisper, Switched at Birth, Without a Trace, Gilmore Girls, The Young and The Restless, and Grey’s Anatomy. She was born in Los Angeles, California, United States. She is the daughter of Damiano Marano, a college professor, and of Ellen Marano, a former actress who operates the Agoura Children’s Theatre.
Her father is of Italian origin and her mother’s heritage is English and Irish. She’s got a younger sister named Laura Marano, who’s an actress too. She started her acting career professionally at the age of 7.
Her mother never wanted her daughter to pursue a career in this field, though. However, Fate had other plans and she eventually grabbed a part in the CBS drama series called Without a Trace in 2002 after working in the stage door theatre.
