Twitter received a lot of criticism back in October after a New York Times article talked about its board of directors being dominated by men, and today that all changed.
@twitter Thank you. There couldn’t be a more exciting time in Twitter’s history to join!
— Marjorie M Scardino (@marjscar) December 5, 2013
Scardino is the former CEO of Pearson, an international education publishing company where she became the first female appointed CEO of a Fortune 100 company.
While many may consider adding Scardino to Twitter’s board of directors a PR stunt, it could be a smart move financially for the now public company.
During her time at Pearson from 1997 to October 2012, she helped triple profits to a record £942 million.
