Twitter User Hiding Marijuana Around Vancouver

Do you like marijuana? What about scavenger hunts and social media? You might want to follow the @HiddenWeedYVR on Twitter.

The anonymous Twitter user has been hiding marijuana around Vancouver for his / her followers to find.

Here’s how it works. @HiddenWeedYVR hides a small canister of weed somewhere in Vancouver and then tweets out a few hints. Then his / her followers go searching.

But before you go hunting for free marijuana you should know that you might be committing a crime. According to Const. Brian Montague, people without a marijuana licence shouldn’t play @HiddenWeedYVR’s little game.

Montague said: “For the person who finds it, possession without a licence is illegal. The act of delivering it to a place for someone else to find would be considered trafficking in a controlled substance under the CDSA … While we use a lot of discretion when it comes to marijuana, the fact that the person could be trafficking to a 12- or 13-year-old, if they are the ones who find it, could draw some unwanted police attention.”
