Twitter Testing Dramatically Redesigned Profiles On Mobile

Twitter

Twitter just announced new photo updates today to its iOS and Android app, and it appears the social network is also testing new mobile profile designs.

Our friends over at The Next Web spotted the major change, which is reminiscent of the profile design Twitter was testing on the web last month.

Profile photos have been shifted to the left while the cover photo remains in the back, and you no longer have to swipe to the left to view a person’s bio.

Twitter has removed the “Tweets” tab from next to “Following” and “Followers,” and added three new tabs directly above a person’s tweets.

“Tweets” also displays the number of tweets sent, and users can specifically view “Photos” or just “Favorites.”

The Next Web notes that this is a limited test currently only displaying in the iOS app, but with the Android and iOS app virtually identical, it could soon arrive on Android.

“There’s no guarantee this will be launched for everyone, but it’s a better use of space and offers more information than the previous version.”

We couldn’t agree more, and combined with today’s photo updates, we look forward to seeing how the mobile experience evolves next.

Do you dig the new Twitter profile design on mobile?
