Twitter Rolls Out New Media Previews On The Web, Mobile Apps

Twitter expanded its image and video previews within timelines, and has started rolling out an update on the web, including to the Android and iOS app.

Images and videos from Vine will now appear in the timeline by default. Previously, you had to click on a tweet in order for the content to display.

Mobile app users will also now be able to reply, favorite or retweet directly from the timeline.

To show off the new features, the Twitter Mobile account shared a clip from Vine:

For regular users, their photos and videos now stand a better chance of actually being seen.

For brands, as Digg designer Justin VanSlembrouck pointed out, the new image and video previews also make way for display ads:
