Tony Stewart will not race at Watkins Glen International on Sunday.
Greg Zipadelli, vice president of competition for Stewart-Haas Racing, initially said that it would be “business as usual” following the crash that killed 20-year-old driver Kevin Ward Jr. but Stewart and Zipadelli have apparently changed their minds.
From @StewartHaasRcng's VP of Competition: Tony Stewart will not race today at @WGI.
@ReganSmith will drive the No. 14 car.

Zipadelli said: “Chase) is the furthest thing from our minds right now.”
Ward Jr. was killed on Saturday night during the sprint car race. Ward jr. was spun out by Stewart during the race. When Ward got out of his car to voice his displeasure, he was struck by Stewart’s car and killed.
Several people on twitter are blaming Stewart for the incident.
Looks to me like he steered towards him to try to scare him and ended up hitting him, but that's just me. #tonystewart

Others feel that Tony Stewart should not be punished because Ward Jr. went onto the track during a race.
Rip Kevin Ward Jr…. But on that note, nothing should happen to Tony Stewart. You surrender yourself when you get out of your car. Period.

I've never been Tony Stewart's biggest fan but anyone claiming he killed that guy on purpose is ignorant. Guy ran out in front of him. #fb

NASCAR has not announced any punishment against Stewart but their is a an ongoing investigation into the crash. Ontario County (N.Y.) Sheriff Philip C. Povero said: “This is an ongoing investigation of an on-track crash.”
We will all loose someone in our time. When a loss is sudden and unexpected, the pain & sadness is suffocating. Prayers for the Ward family.
