This is why you always have to remember to lock the gate. Three rhinos, including a young female named Rihanna, escaped the Ramat Gan Safari Park in Tel Aviv this week.
According to Abroath, the guard responsible for closing the gate had accidentally dozed off and didn’t realize that the rhinos were heading for the exit. When another employee saw Rihanna and her two Rhino pals making their way out of the zoo, he decided that his best course of action was to give chase.
Yes, he apparently thought that he’d be able to single handle round up three rhinoceroses and return them to the zoo.
It didn’t work.
Thankfully, local authorities were alerted and were able to set up a road block. In total, the rhinos were on the loose for about ten minutes before they were returned to the zoo.
A zoo spokesman said: “We located the rhinos in the car park not far from the safari park itself … Overall, the rhinos were outside about 10 minutes.”
Nothing really dramatic or even interesting happened during this rhino attack. Still, watching this helpless employee chase three rhinos down the street is still pretty amusing.
