This Image Can Break Your Brain, So Share It With Your Friends [Video]

Just like a song can get stuck in your head, there are some images that can re-wire (read: break) your brain and completely alter the way you look at the world.

It’s called the “McCollough Effect,” and according to Tom Scott of Things You Might Not Know, it can completely fark your brain up for up to three months at a time. All you have to do is stare at the lined macro Scott shows in the clip for as little as 15 minutes, science science science, and your brain breaks. Afterwards, every single time you see something similar IRL like a gate or fence, your brain will fill in the open space with the inverse color.

Yeah, it’s hard to wrap your mind around if you’re not a science person, but Scott has a very charismatic accent, so listen to him explain the “McCollough Effect” above, and follow him on Twitter here.
