Target has attempted to lure in buyers with hyper-targeted offers but those recommendations have not always been met with the best results. Remember that time that company outed a pregnant teenage girl to her dad by sending baby clothes coupons?
In an attempt to solve the social shopping problem the company has launched the Target Awesome Shop, a product platform that curates what other people are buying and then showcases that information to users.
The new platform is meant to take the guess work out of the equation by taking what customers are already sharing and reviewing from the Target website.
A customers favorite merch based on recent pins and positive reviews show at the top of the page.
The Pinterest-inspired design is a minimalists dream, allowing users to see merchandise and then click on items to read full reviews, check the number of pins, and even purchase the product directly from Target.com.
Target says the platform is still a work in progress and will be tweaked with feedback from Awesome Shop users.
If you trust your friends and the opinions of complete strangers the Target Awesome Shop might be perfect for your holiday shopping and personal needs.
