Taco Bell Employee Licking Taco Shells Causes Stir On Facebook

Taco Bell Taco Shells

A photo of a Taco Bell employee licking a giant stack of taco shells caught the attention of the restaurant chain after someone uploaded to the image to the official Facebook page.

The image shows an unidentified employee dragging his tongue down what appears to be a large stack of the company’s taco shells. Although it was a likely a prank, people aren’t thrilled about seeing this sort of questionable behavior at their favorite fast food joint.

Taco Bell addressed the situation by launching an investigation into the matter. Although the shells in question could have been headed to the nearest dumpster, the very idea of an employee licking food before serving it to customers definitely isn’t a laughing matter for many.

“When we learned of the situation we immediately contacted this restaurant’s leadership and although we believe it is a prank and the food was not served to customers, we are conducting a full scale investigation and will be taking swift action against those involved,” the company said in a statement.

Although Taco Bell tried to calm the waters by stating that the shells were probably being thrown own, a few customers weren’t happy with that particular response.

“It really doesn’t matter if the food was to be thrown out or not. He is a representative of taco bell while working and in uniform, and by doing this and posting it online for the world to see he is ruining the reputation of the company,” one Facebook user commented.

Earlier this year, a KFC employee landed in hot water after pretending to lick a plate of mashed potatoes. Once the image started making the rounds on social media, the chicken slinger was relieved of her duties at the restaurant. If you’re going to misbehave, you might want to keep it to yourself.

  1. I stop going there cause they really cut down on filling the taco to the top of the corn tortilla, the meat is less, lettes is less , cheese is barely there, didn't even fill the taco to the top of the of the tortilla, in the city of Lynwood on Long Beach Blvd. De Taco has a good looking Taco on TV right now.

  2. Why would someone be stupid enough to do something like this and have a picture taken of it? You should lose your job for something like this. Completely unprofessional.

  3. Just another case of social media whores… They think they're gonna be "cool" all over Facebook to their buddies, so they post stupid things like this. People just don't realize how easily their bosses can get ahold of incriminating photos/statements made by the employee, such as these. When I saw this, I thought, "Doesn't surprise me since the value of customer service and self-worth has deteriorated to little or nothing at all." Sad fact.
