What immediately comes to mind when you think of Marvin Gaye’s sexual healing? A barber shop quartet, right? Steve Carell appeared on The Tonight Show last night and sang an incredibly geeky version of the hit love song with Jimmy Fallon.
Carell has been getting a lot of attention for his dramatic work. The actor recently earned a Golden Globe nomination for best actor, drama, for his role in Fox Catcher.
Carell said the role was “a challenge and a little scary at the same time. But I tend to think that things that scare you are probably the types of things you should try to do. I think you learn more from those experiences. And you take greater risks trying stuff like that.”
It’s great that Steve Carell is taking risks in his career and hopefully they continue to pay off. Still, it’s nice to see that the 40-year-old virgin hasn’t lost a step when it comes to comedy.
Carell will have some tough competition at the Golden Globes. Benedict Cumberbatch, Jake Gyllenhaal, David Oyelow and Eddie Redmayne could all have a chance to walk away with the award. Regardless, Carell is pretty sure that we’ll be entertained during the show.
Carell said: “Tina (Fey) sent me an email this morning just congratulating me. (Fey and Amy Poehler) are the best. I can’t wait to see what they’re going to do. I think everybody feels the same way.”
