Skout Looks To Party With Acquisition Of Nightlife App Nixter

Skout is a mobile social network that makes it easy to find people to meet in real life, and today announced the acquisition of nightlife app Nixter.

Nixter was founded in January 2012, and integrates with nightclubs so users can quickly find events happening in their area, and purchase tickets.

You can even get hooked up with bottle service, and the app is currently only available on iOS.

From Skout CEO Christian Wiklund:

“This will be a huge value-add service to our users. I also think it’s highly monetizable and it will build even stronger loyalty from our users.”

Wiklund says there’s been interest in better integrating with real world events, which is what it plans to do with the acquisition of Nixter.

However, Nixter will continue to remain as a standalone app simply offering some much needed assistance in helping Skout accomplish its vision.

There were other offers to acquire the app, said Nixter Co-Founder Francisco Saez, but Skout’s offer didn’t cause worries “about losing a lot of power and autonomy.”

Neither company disclosed financial terms of the acquisition, but it was a cash and stock deal.

According to Wiklund, Skout became profitable six months ago, and currently 30 percent of its users are in the United States.
