Shannon Briggs put a little Mr. T in to his effort to get one more payday from boxing. In what amounted to a self promotional stunt the former journeyman boxer verbally assaulted heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko at a gym in Hollywood, FL.
Briggs capped off the maniacal tirade by throwing his shoe at the long-time Ukrainian champion. Briggs, who has been semi-retired since suffering a severe beating at the hands of Wladimir’s brother in 2010, announced his preemptive strike on Twitter – in three different tweets saying the exact same thing.
I just ran up on Wladimir Klitchscko and bust him in the head with a shoe! He a bitch. Just like I been saying for years!#shannonbriggs

Of course, Clubber…er…Shannon Briggs had a camera crew present when he ripped off his shirt. Wladimir Klitschko went about his business during the barrage, getting his hands wrapped ahead of a training session.
Fighters will do anything for attention and here I am giving it to them. Briggs is searching for a paycheck he in no way deserves. It actually would be dangerous for him to enter a prize ring.
In his last fight against Vitali Klitschko in October of 2010, Shannon Briggs was beaten grotesque, left with multiple facial fractures and a torn left bicep.
Fans greeted Shannon Briggs harshly on Twitter, but the former heavyweight contender remained above embarrassment.
@Fugazi3011 ok I hope you feel that way in the future. Stay that way. Don’t change up. Please.
