Secret Reveals Your Inner Thoughts, But It’s Still A Secret

Secret App

We all have secrets, and a new app appropriately called “Secret” lets you share your inner thoughts with friends while not revealing your identity.

The app is very similar to numerous sites that have popped up over the years, but packages the idea in a different way.

There are no names or ways of seeing who someone is, and the more likes or comments a post receives, the more it spreads through the app and, who knows, maybe in front of your friends.

From Co-Founder David Mark Byttow:

“Secret feels like a masquerade ball. You know who’s on the guest list, but you don’t know who is saying what.”

Secret lets you change the color/design of the post background before writing what you have to say, including the ability to change it to a photo, and you can view notifications such as new comments or likes.

“This isn’t necessarily about sharing secrets. It’s about sharing secretly. People feel a sense of belonging or validation when we’re all feeling the same things. I hear people’s internal dialogues and they resonate with me.”

Currently only available on iOS, Secret has raised $1.4 million to date.
