Rihanna’s Maori Tattoo Looks Like It Hurt [Video]

Rihanna got a new tattoo and she did it the old fashion way: with a mallet and a chisel. Yep, the singer was in New Zealand and decided to get a traditional Maori tattoo on her right hand.

The tattoo industry has come a long way since the days of hammer and nail. It isn’t a painless process but it’s quicker, more sanitary, and is typically done with a fancy little machine.

But Rihanna decided to ditch the modern conveniences for her Maori tattoo.

The Moko Ink Studio writes on its website: “Moko Ink is the worlds first Maori Tattoo Studio specializing in the contemporary use and creation of traditional Maori and Polynesian Tatu.”

Riri frequently uses Twitter and Instagram to show off her clothes (or lack their of), and body art but the singer hasn’t shared any photos of the Maori tattoo yet. She did, however, thank New Zealand for their hospitality.
