DeSean Jackson is having one of the more interesting weeks of 2014.
First he was released by the Eagles for reported gang ties, then the Raider fan base got the hashtag #DJaxToOakland trending on Twitter.
Now one of the biggest NFL stars is throwing his support behind Jackson. On Saturday, Richard Sherman of the World Champion Seattle Seahawks sent a tweet out in support of his fellow player.
@DeseanJackson10 and me have been boys since we were kids… No one should be judged by the actions of others! #fam pic.twitter.com/Q7yuxMcz6a

Both players followed similar paths to the NFL. After growing up in Los Angeles they went up north to the Bay Area for college. Sherman went to Stanford while Jackson went to Cal.
DeSean Jackson was then a high draft pick by the Eagles, and he has been worth the investment. Sherman was not as highly touted coming out of college, but has proved to be just as good as Jackson in the NFL.
Richard Sherman is also not new to controversy. In two seasons he has built a reputation as a free talker and trouble starter. Jackson has not been as vocal on the field, but his off field reputation is filled with question marks.
DeSean Jackson denies any claims that he is involved in gangs. With Richard Sherman backing his claim, it will probably ease a number of team’s worries. It shouldn’t be long before we know if Raiders fans get their wish.
