Another day, another disturbing report of domestic violence from the NFL. Arizona running back Jonathan Dwyer was arrested earlier this week for aggravated assault. The police report, which was released today, gives some disturbing details about the incident.
According to the report, Dwyer head-butted his wife and broke her nose after she refused to have sex with him. Dwyer reportedly punched her in the face again the following day. Dwyer also reportedly threw a show at his young son. The boy was not injured.

If true, forget the NFL, the only place for him is jail RT@CindyBoren Jonathan Dwyer head-butted his wife and broke her nose, police say. — Len Berman (@LenBermanSports) September 18, 2014
Fox Sports reports that the incident occurred on July 21 at his Phoenix residence. His wife left the state after Dwyer assaulted her but she didn’t go to the police until last. She decided to go to the police after Dwyer sent her a text message saying that he was going to kill himself in front of their child.
If it is true what Jonathan Dwyer did to his wife, the judge might literally get up and throw a book at him.

Jonathan Dwyer’s arrest comes at a troubling time in the NFL. Several players have been arrested for domestic abuse and the league hasn’t handled the situation well at all. On the bright side, it looks like the management behind the Arizona Cardinals actually know what they are doing.

Dwyer hasn’t commented on his arrest yet but he did send out this poorly timed tweet.
