Phil Jackson’s first tweet had many people wondering if the legendary NBA coach had passed out mid-tweet and smacked his head against the keyboard. But it turns out that Jackson’s garbled message, “11 champ;ipnsikp[ ringhs,” was just a hoax.

The tweet was meant to get people talking (which it did, Jackson gained more than 175,000 followers in less than a day) and served as the first half of an ad for the coach’s new Twitter account.
Jackson published a second tweet with a link to an AOL video.

Do you get it? Jackson couldn’t type properly because he was wearing so many rings on his hands…
So why is Phil Jackson playing hoaxes on Twitter? Why did he just set up a new account?
Well, the NBA coach has a new book coming out soon called Eleven Rings: The Soul Of Success.
Penguin Books writes: “During his storied career as head coach of the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, Phil Jackson won more championships than any coach in the history of professional sports. Even more important, he succeeded in never wavering from coaching his way, from a place of deep values. Jackson was tagged as the “Zen master” half in jest by sportswriters, but the nickname speaks to an important truth: this is a coach who inspired, not goaded; who led by awakening and challenging the better angels of his players’ nature, not their egos, fear, or greed.”
