No Plans For ‘Iron Man 4,’ Says Robert Downey Jr.

Bad news, Iron Man fans. Robert Downey Jr. has no plans on making fourth movie.

Downey Jr. said: “There isn’t one in the pipe … No, there’s no plan for a fourth Iron Man.”

Of course, the actor will be reprising his role as Tony Stark in at least two more Avengers films. He recently finished filming The Avengers: Age of Ultron (which opens in May of 2015) and will play Iron Man again in a third Avengers film set for release in 2018.

After that, well, we’re guessing that Downey Jr. is going to be a little burnt out with super hero movies. But that could be a good thing. The Iron Man movies were huge financial successes for Marvel but the sequels were not nearly as well received as the first film in 2008.

Are you disappointed that there won’t be a fourth Iron Man movie? Robert Downey Jr. was an amazing Tony Stark but we’re kind of excited to see the actor in non-Marvel movies again. You can check out a trailer for his latest film, The Judge, below.
