Moov Claims The Most Successful Fitness Crowdfunding Campaign Ever

Moov

Moov, a wearable fitness tracker created by former Apple engineer Nikola Hu, announced it had the most successful fitness crowdfunding campaign ever today.

Coming just two weeks after kicking off the campaign on its website, the tracker costs $69.95, and the latest batch is expected to ship this Fall.

The original goal was to raise $40,000 which took just 90 minutes, and according to a press release, Moov has raised nearly $1 million.

From Co-Founder Meng Li:

“We are so grateful for the overwhelming support from our early backers. Our success thus far reflects the growing need and desire for a fitness product that goes beyond what current trackers on the market are able to offer. We’re excited for the first round of Moovs to be shipped out in the summer.”

Helping to fuel sales is that Moov will retail for $120, and it offers a very pleasing design that gives other wearable fitness trackers like Fitbit’s line a run for their money.

According to the company, “it’s the first device that not only tracks your activity and form while you’re exercising, but gives you real-time audio and visual instruction on how to improve.”

Moov also makes activities like boxing fun by turning it into an interactive game, minus the swinging a Wii controller from the comfort of your couch.
